Com o processo de divis\u00e3o do estado de Mato Grosso em duas unidades federativas, ocorreu a funda\u00e7\u00e3o de Mato Grosso do Sul. Esse processo ocorreu no dia 11 de outubro de 1977 com a san\u00e7\u00e3o presidencial de Ernesto Geisel, ent\u00e3o comandante da ditadura militar que governava o Brasil desde 1964. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">N\u00e3o h\u00e1 um consenso a respeito de todos os motivos que levaram o governo militar a impor a divis\u00e3o de Mato Grosso, at\u00e9 porque os movimentos \u201cdivisionistas\u201d do sul do estado, liderados pela elite ruralista e latifundi\u00e1ria, encontravam-se em momento de baixa atua\u00e7\u00e3o e pouqu\u00edssimo apoio. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Segundo a historiadora Marisa Bitar, os motivos que levaram a ditadura a impor a divis\u00e3o, sem consulta \u00e0 popula\u00e7\u00e3o, foram:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Impulsionar o desenvolvimento regional e a ocupa\u00e7\u00e3o territorial; <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Fortalecer as fronteiras locais com a Bol\u00edvia e o Paraguai <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Manter uma melhor rela\u00e7\u00e3o pol\u00edtica com o partido da ditadura, o Arena, ampliando a sua base de apoio por meio da cria\u00e7\u00e3o de mais uma se\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A funda\u00e7\u00e3o de Mato Grosso do Sul foi realizada durante o Regime Militar no Brasil e buscou promover um melhor desenvolvimento regional.
